With warmer weather still in full effect but fall quickly approaching, here are a few fun, underrated ways to wrap up the summer season.
Host a Picnic Party
Nothing says summer more than a picnic. But instead of packing sandwiches and parking it on a blanket in the grass, really go all-out and make it a party! Invite your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, etc. and have them bring along a dish to contribute. Pick a theme and ask each guest to bring an item related to that theme, like Hawaiian luau. Set up a few game stations and have the food be the highlight of the party.
Rent a Pool
Don’t have a swimming pool? No problem! You can quite literally rent out a pool (or hot tub) per hour. Check out Swimply, where you can pick your date, book your time slot online, and get ready to get in the water. And if you have access to a pool – lucky you – then plan a day out in the summer sunshine.
Have a Cookout
If you’re into the idea of having food with your favorite people, but don’t want to make it a major event like the aforementioned picnic party, then you’ve got to host a cookout. It’s as easy as inviting over your favorite people and firing up the grill in your backyard or heading to your community grilling stations. Go for a delicious kebab recipe, grill some corn on the cob, throw on a few steaks, or really go for it with a few racks of ribs. Make things extra easy on yourself as the host by having your guests bring the side dishes.
Rent a Convertible
Turo is a car sharing platform that allows you to rent other people’s vehicles – it’s like Uber or Lyft, but the driver is you! Simply search online for a vehicle of your choice near you…and may we suggest a convertible? Put the top down and take a drive through the favorite parts of your city with the wind in your hair and the sun on your skin.
