After a long, cold winter, we’re more ready for spring than ever. A new season brings new beginnings and is a perfect time to update and redesign your home decor. Every home needs a touch-up once in a while, so why not do it when the weather matches? Try these four ways to spruce up your home for spring.
Buy Greenery
Most plants are rather inexpensive, easy to care for, and add a splash of greenery, color, and life to any room. They also come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so you can position them either on a windowsill or as a centerpiece for your coffee table. Just make sure they’re in a sunny area – most plants need around six hours of sunlight a day. Have fun experimenting with different species as well!
Spice Up Your Shades
Changing up your lampshades might not sound like a very exciting way to update your home, but you’d be surprised at how much of a difference a brighter atmosphere can uplift your mood. Try out translucent stained-glass-style shades or woven wicker nest shades to make your home more unique and bring more light to your rooms.
Make Some DIY Window Art
This is a simple and easy way to add a pop of fun and color to your home. Print out some flower design templates, trace over them with puffy paint, wait for the paint to dry, then peel off the designs and press them against your windows. You don’t have to do this on a window that faces the outside – try pasting them onto a glass cabinet or even a table instead. The designs are easily removable for when it comes time for your next style overhaul next season.
Buy a Mini Indoor Fountain
Running water is a surefire way to add an atmosphere of peace and serenity to any room. You can find tabletop-sized indoor fountains at most home improvement stores, and most are very simple to set up and maintain. You can also pick from a variety of styles to match the rest of your home decor, or even switch up your decor to complement your new fountain.
