With Thanksgiving just a few days away, here are a few handy tips and tricks to make sure your Turkey day celebrations are an absolute hit.
1. Clean Up
No guest appreciates seeing cluttered surfaces or a grimy bathroom. And you’d never want your guests’ first impression of your home to be, “is that dog I smell?” A day or two before your company arrives, you’ll want to do a decent sweep of your place and really deep clean the kitchen, bathrooms, all surfaces, and the floors. Take it up a notch by washing any throw blankets, slip covers, and bathroom and kitchen hand towels. If you’re pressed for time, hire a local housekeeping company to help, but be sure to check that they have availability so close to the holiday.
2. Really Know Your Guests
Whether you’re hosting a small friendsgiving or having the entire family over for a full blown feast, make sure you check in with your guests to see if anyone has food allergies or dietary restrictions, and plan your menu accordingly.
3. Map Out the Meal
Mapping out your party meal and making lists of ingredients and supplies as far in advance as possible, makes for much smoother and execution on the day. You can also make some sides or desserts a day or two ahead, to save time and oven space. Not only does advanced planning and preparation give you better odds of finding everything you need, but it helps you feel less stressed on the day of the event.
4. Throw In a Few Extras
From a pumpkin scented candle in the entryway to drink tags for each of your guests, it’s all in the details when planning out an awesome event for your favorite people.
