Check Out These DIY Grocery Hacks to Minimize Your Monthly Food Spend

Recipes That Will Reduce Your Monthly Grocery Bill

Are you looking for new ways to save money? Try taking a look at your grocery bill. There are many adjustments and recipes you can make that will cut down on costs. Here are a few Olympus-approved tips that your wallet will love.

Greek Yogurt

A homemade version of this healthy yogurt option saves you money and is free of additional chemicals.
The ingredients needed are regular yogurt, a paper towel, and a sieve to make it. Line the sieve with the paper towel, add the yogurt and place it over a bowl. The process will strain your yogurt, and after a few hours, voila! You'll have thick creamy Greek yogurt at the price of regular yogurt. The resulting filtered-out liquid is whey, which you can use in smoothies and soups. Add some berries to create a filling and super-healthy breakfast.

Tahini

This Middle Eastern condiment is rich in proteins and can be used as a spread, salad dressings, or soups. The ingredients are sesame seeds, oil, a pinch of slate, and a food processor.

Toast the sesame for about five minutes until lightly browned, and let them cool. Process them in the food processor for a minute, add oil, and process again for 3 minutes. Add salt, process it for another 10 seconds, and you have your tahini.

Soy Milk

Soy milk is nutritious, lactose-free, and good plant-based milk. You'll need soybeans, water, and a bender.

Soak your beans overnight, then blend until smooth. Use 750ml of water for 3 cups of soybeans. Strain the resulting mixture using a sieve lined with a paper filter. You can also use a cheesecloth. Boil the filtered-out milk, stirring occasionally, let it cool, and enjoy it.
