3 WAYS TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

|

Women are beyond unique in their own, individual ways. So this year for International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, don’t just grab a stereotypical bouquet of flowers from the local grocery store like it’s any other holiday. Let’s celebrate the women in our lives in meaningful and personalized ways with these three ideas from Olympus Property.

1. Say Thank You

We say thank you in many small ways throughout our day-to-day lives, so why not thank the women around us for not only being them, but for all that they do? Whether it’s for working long hours, being a role model when it comes to education or community service, being the committed dishwasher after dinner, or always thinking of others, International Women’s Day is a wonderful excuse to appreciate those around us.

2. Share on Social Media

Reaching the screens of tens, hundreds, or even thousands of followers, social media is an awesome way to acknowledge women. With the opportunity to use hashtags, like #InternationalWomensDay and share with others, give a shoutout on your social page in honor of International Women’s Day. Whether you compliment your mom or sister-in-law, give thanks to your neighbor across the way, or highlight a woman who’s inspired you in some way, a simple post or share on your social media account is a fun way to give them praise. Tell a little story about how they brightened your day or post a photo of the two of you together – and be sure to tag them!

3. Get Involved

Long before suffragettes campaigned for the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920 and the civil rights and women’s rights movements of the 1950s and 1960s helped codify their right to equal treatment in the U.S., women were making enormous social, economic, cultural, and political contributions in their communities and the world. Those efforts continue in 2021, and today’s women aren’t here to mess around when it comes to getting informed and getting involved. Check out the official International Women’s Day website to find out how you can support women and women-focused charities.
