Head to the Farmers’ Market on Grand Parkway held every Saturday from 8 AM to noon for fabulous foods from area farms, ranches, and kitchens, plus locally handcrafted goods. The former LaCenterra Farmers Market now has a new name and a new location at Church of the Holy Apostles (1225 Grand Parkway/Highway 99, Katy).
What to Expect
While it’s not huge, this neighborhood farmers market offers a good selection of sustainably grown produce, locally raised meats, farm fresh eggs, artisan crafts, handmade breads and baked goods, handmade soaps, jams and jellies, spices, snacks, Texas-raised herbs, flowers, plants, and more. And it’s hard to beat the convenience of the location, less than 10 minutes’ drive from Olympus Katy Ranch.
Meet the Vendors
While the vendor lineup changes from week to week, recent markets included produce from Fallow Creek Farm, Glos Gardens, and PEAS Farm, eggs, poultry and pork from Frydek Heritage Farm, Dustin’s Eggs, and The Egg Lady, meats from Katerra Exotics and Watermelon Hill, and honey from Pure Texas Honey. 14 other vendors sold everything from spice mixes and ready-made foods, to raw pet food, specialty wine, handmade soaps and bath goods, and CBD oil and balms. You can visit the market’s Facebook page each Friday for updates on that weekend’s participating vendors.
What to Know
The Farmers’ Market on Grand Parkway is held rain or shine, and there’s generally plenty of parking at and around the church grounds. Bring cash, as not all vendors accept credit cards. It’s also a good idea to bring your own shopping bag(s) to make it easier to carry all your swag.
