Houston lights up with holiday cheer every December. Here are four of the best light displays in the area.
Sugar Land Holiday Lights
Its website claims it to be “the best holiday lights show in all the land.” Find out for yourself by checking out Sugar Land Holiday Lights. This grandiose display at Constellation Field is a big draw every year and features more than 3 million lights, eight themed areas, shopping, food, and, of course, Santa Claus. Experience it through Jan. 3.
The Houston Zoo has transformed into a light-filled winter wonderland through Jan. 10. Walk through the 125-foot-long Infinity Tunnel of Light, see dragons come to life in the 4-D Enchanted Forest, snap a selfie on a giant ice throne, say hello to Santa, and visit Candy the Zoo Lights Zebra.
This popular residential display over in Katy is quite the sight. Located on 24603 Stoughton Court off I-10, the Christmas Katy house lights up starting at 5:30 PM. Lights dance to holiday music. It’s quite the sight. Squeeze in your visit before they shut off the lights on Jan. 1.
If you like your holiday light displays with a side of interactivity, Galaxy Lights at Space Center Houston is a must-see. High-tech kinetic light shows dazzle by flashing in choreographed sequences to music. You can also watch the original film Holidays in Space at Destiny Theater, stroll through a winter wonderland display at Zero-G Diner, and visit the twinkling tree in Astronaut Gallery. While at Astronaut Gallery, you can also check out an interactive show detailing the science behind starlight. And that’s just a sampling. Check out Galaxy Lights through Jan. 3.
