We’re still waiting for most professional sports leagues to start back up, but you don’t have to wait for stellar sports content in the meantime. If you’re looking for something sportsy to binge-watch right now, look no further than these epic sports documentaries:
“The Last Dance”
If you didn’t catch “The Last Dance” when ESPN released it earlier this summer, then get on it! This 10-episode documentary chronicles the rise of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, who won six NBA titles in the 1990s. This highly entertaining series focuses on the 1997-98 season – the Bulls’ final of the six title runs before General Manager Jerry Krause broke up the team’s nucleus – while intermittently flashing back to tales of Jordan and the Bulls’ rise to glory. Check it out and you’ll finally know what all those Jordan memes are about!
ESPN delivered big time in the documentary department this summer. “LANCE” follows the rise and fall of cycling legend Lance Armstrong, a testicular cancer survivor and seven-time Tour de France winner who saw his legacy crumble thanks to a doping scandal. This two-part series is a fascinating dive into Armstrong’s complex mind.
“Formula 1: The Drive to Survive”
If you’re like most of the U.S., chances are you haven’t as much as watched an F1 race, let alone know all that goes into making it as a Formula 1 driver. “The Drive to Survive” offers a fascinating and illuminating glimpse into the world of auto racing at the highest level, showing the ridiculous amount of skill it takes to be successful in the sport. This Netflix docuseries’ second 10-episode season came out February 28, so you’ll have 20 fantastic episodes to binge!
