Cedar Brake Trail
This trail is located in the Cedar Ridge Preserve and is just a short 2.2 mile loop. Great for bringing along your pup and perfect for younger kiddos, this trail is a stunning local hotspot – so be sure to visit in the afternoon or early morning hours to avoid busy paths.
Oak Cliff Nature Preserve
Right in the middle of a residential area in Oak Cliff, this nature preserve transports you to a dense forest sanctuary. Featuring 8 miles of trails and rolling wildflower meadows, this lush woodland setting is where you want to be on a cool fall day in Dallas.
Big Cedar Wilderness DOBRA Trail
Running water, wooden slat paths, leaf-covered dirt paths, and quirky abandoned treasures along this trail makes for an interesting hiking spot in Dallas.
Santa Fe Trail
This paved route runs 4.2 miles from White Rock Lake to Deep Ellum and Fair Park. While not particularly scenic, this flat trail is the perfect spot for strollers, beginners, and those looking for steady ground.
Guitar Gulch
If you’re looking for an overgrown forest oasis, this trail is it. Located about 25 minutes North of Olympus at Ross, you’ll immediately feel like you’ve entered a vibrant woodland utopia. Hike around the Katie Jackson DOBRA trail for 1.8 miles of stunning backwood paths.
