If you haven’t been to see the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit in Dallas yet, you’re in luck. It has been extended through Jan. 23, 2022, so you’ll have plenty of time to make it to this eye-opening sensory experience that literally lets you step inside Dutch painter, Vincent van Gogh’s, most famous masterpieces.
What’s Different About This Exhibit?
Immersive Van Gogh is a completely new way of encountering art. Instead of paintings hanging on a wall, this 360-degree digital exhibit is comprised of 500,000 cubic feet of monumental floor-to-ceiling projections of 40 of the artist’s works along with an original soundtrack. You’ll feel as though you’re walking through (and on) a room full of growing sunflowers and seeing it from Van Gogh’s perspective. Find yourself surrounded by the dazzling scene of The Starry Night, and be at the table with The Potato Eaters.
How Long Does It Take?
The 40 works are displayed one at a time in a continuous loop, with each cycle lasting around 35 minutes. Many visitors stay through two or even three cycles in order to take it all in. The size and scope of the high-resolution projections let you more fully appreciate the vivid colors and swirling brushstrokes that characterize Van Gogh’s artistry.
