UNIQUE WAYS TO GET YOUR BODY MOVING THIS SPRING IN CARROLLTON, TX

|

If spring has got you grumbling about relying on your same old fitness routine, it might be time to shake things up. Here are a few unique ideas to help keep your workouts interesting.

Archery

This sport experienced a surge of popularity thanks to the Hunger Games movies. Years later, it’s still a fun and unique way to move your body and learn new skills. Become a member at Texas Archery, where you’ll find 30,000 square feet of an indoor training facility. They offer classes and time on the training range, where you can perfect your technique.

Slacklining

While slacklining might sound intimidating, it’s actually a lot safer than most people think, and an incredible way to build strength and develop balance. Slacklines are relatively inexpensive and easy to set up. Beginners should start with a line that’s 2 inches wide and set as low to the ground as possible (taking into account how much slack you want to give the line). As you become more adept, you can raise the line and increase the slack. And don’t forget, this physical activity isn’t just about walking back and forth across the line. You can jump, practice certain yoga postures, and even perform arm balances on a slackline.

Trampolining

If you think trampolining is just for kids, think again. This is an incredibly fun, easy, and inexpensive way to get your heart rate going and your body moving. You can follow “rebounding” workouts on YouTube or simply use your mini trampoline to get your blood flowing during breaks from work.

Pure Barre

Head over to this studio in Plano where you can take classes that mix ballet, yoga, and Pilates. It’s low-impact, which means easy on your joints, though it still packs a wallop with its high intensity movements. You’ll build long, lean muscles, increase your strength and flexibility, and reshape your body with these classes.

Climbing

With 5,000 square feet of climbing area, Summit Climbing, Yoga & Fitness is a great destination for an incredibly fun and powerful workout. There are a ton of classes available to help you build your climbing skill set, but most of all, you’ll enjoy their warm environment and massive climbing walls that will keep you busy – and sweating – for hours.
