8 FLAVORS TO SAVOR FROM BETH MARIE’S OLD FASHIONED ICE CREAM

|

Not much tastes better than ice cream on a hot summer day, or really any time of year if we’re being honest. At Olympus on Main, we’re lucky to have an outpost of Beth Marie’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream just a block away in downtown Carrollton at 1020 W. Main Street, serving delicious homemade scoops, sundaes, and shakes in a nostalgic, retro atmosphere. They also offer curbside pickup and delivery via DoorDash. But with more than 130 rotating flavors (there are 30 to 50 typically available at any given time), it can be tough to choose. So here are a few of our faves to get you started.

Bees Nee’s

You can immediately picture (and almost hear) the bees buzzing around delicately scented lavender bushes when you taste the surprising but somehow perfect combination of these honey and lavender flavors.

Bah Bah Blackberry

The rich berry flavor that screams summer is blended into smooth ice creamy goodness. It’s simple, but utterly delicious.

Hog Wild

You’ll go wild for this one. Chunks of bacon are folded into creamy vanilla ice cream with chocolate and maple swirls. Is it breakfast? Is it dessert? Who cares? All we know is it’s soooo good!

Campfire S’mores

Enjoy the best part of camping without the risk of an unfortunate encounter with bears or poison ivy. Campfire S’mores ice cream combines the flavors of toasted marshmallow with chocolate and hints of cinnamon.

Passionfruit Sorbet

If you don’t eat dairy or just want something a little lighter than ice cream, this sorbet is the perfect blend of sweet and tart with an exotic, tropical vibe. But be careful – you may become as addicted as we are.

Strawberry Basil

Another somewhat surprising flavor combo that just works. The basil cuts the sweetness of the strawberries and makes your taste buds sit up and say “wow.” Then they say, “more please.”

Salty Dog

This classic salted caramel ice cream gets the balance just right. Not too sweet, and not too salty, it happens to be one of the most popular flavors on the Beth Marie’s menu and is also a personal favorite of owner Bob Moses.

Texas Heat

Because it wouldn’t be Texas if there weren’t a few things on the menu with some heat, you can spice up your life with this chocolate chip ice cream that gets a little kick from candied jalapeños.

Have fun trying these recommendations and discovering your own favorite flavors at Beth Marie’s, and check out the other lifestyle tips and information available in our blog.
