|

With Halloween just around the corner, now’s the time to make any last-minute plans for celebrating this special day. The Olympus Hillwood community is hosting a Pumpkin Decorating Contest on Oct. 26 at 5 PM and a Find Blue scavenger hunt on October 30 at 5 PM. Murfreesboro has numerous other great events worth checking out. Here are just a few.

Halloween Cookie Decorating Class for Beginners

It says this class is for beginners, but even if you have some experience you may want to pretend to be a beginner so you can repeatedly lick frosting off your fingers! Mmmm, mis-applied frosting. Tickets start at $55, so you’re going to want to eat plenty of frosting! Friday, Oct. 23, 6:30 PM, Brass Horn Coffee Roasters, 410 W. Lytle St.

Rubiks Groove Halloween Costume Party

Dress in your spooky best and join friends and neighbors for a performance by Rubiks Groove – “America’s premier character-driven ’80s and ’90s entertainment band.” See hard-rockin’ childhood heroes like Bill Nye, Johnny Lawrence (the evil blond boy from Karate Kid), and Chewbacca kick out the jams. They will be playing on the outdoor stage at Hop Springs, which is located on 84 acres, making it easy to social distance with confidence. Tickets start at $15 for adults, and kids under 14 get in free. Friday, Oct. 23, 7 PM, Hop Springs Beer Park, 6790 John Bragg Highway

Prizes will include a 2020 Indian Scout Motorcycle, Evolution Forester 4 golf cart, a variety of Jack Daniels, Twisted Tea, and Tattoo Tequila products, and more.
