Fall is an amazing time in Albuquerque. You’ll find ideal temps at any time of the day, with mornings being cool, yet warmed by the bright sunshine, and afternoons warming up to a comfortable 70 degrees in the early part of the season. The weather here sets the stage for an abundant season full of outdoor fun, events, and beautiful fall foliage scenery.
Fall in Albuquerque happens to bring on a ton of the area’s best events of the year. The world’s largest balloon festival, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta takes place in October. It spans nine sky-speckled days with over 500 hot air balloons dotting the skyline. Another major fall event is the New Mexico State Fair, going strong since 1938. A favorite among locals, the fair celebrates local food, competition, culture, creativity, and our area’s rich agricultural heritage. Mark your calendars, event season is on in ABQ.
Epic Landscapes & Outdoor Time
Bright foliage is most noticeable in the forest of cottonwood and willow trees that line the Rio Grande, truly a sight to see right in town. And with the mountains not far away, it’s just a short drive to experience the changing Aspen trees that give off that glowy goodness. With epic colors and solid temps, fall is a great time to go for a hike, get on your bike, stroll in your neighborhood, and simply enjoy the outdoors.
