Whether you'd like to paint, make a serving bowl, or learn the ancient art of glassblowing, visit a local studio where you're sure to bring out your inner artist.
Here are our favorites:
The Art Center of Wilmington
The Art Center of Wilmington is a neighborhood studio where all artistic abilities can gather to learn how to paint. The center offers a casual atmosphere, and its philosophy allows every painter to progress at their own pace and choose their own compositions. Students learn from Dr. Shawn Bland who specializes in both acrylic and oil painting, and has more than 35 years of teaching experience. During the two-hour adult classes, everyone receives individualized while in a group setting.
Hostess City Hot Glass
Established in 2018 by Ronald Martinez, Hostess City Hot Glass offers classes fun for date night or an evening with friends. Ronald grew up outside of Savannah, and he learned the art of glassblowing while attending college in the Pacific Northwest. He opened the studio after returning home with his wife and daughter, and the blow your own glass class is perfect for beginners. All students receive one-on-one instruction while learning how to add color to an ornament or paperweight.
Savannah's Clay Spot
Savannah's Clay Spot provides a unique underground playground for those who are creative and imaginative. Its mission is to promote understanding and appreciation of ceramic arts, and the hands-on classes welcome all abilities. Class sizes are limited to seven to ten students, and participants can collaborate with their classmates as well as enjoy individual attention from the instructor.
In addition to these art studios, our apartments in Savannah are also near top shopping destinations and enticing restaurants. If you would like to call our community home, please contact us to schedule a tour where you can see firsthand all we have to offer.
