If you’re reading this, chances are you’re a fan of that wheat fueled nectar called beer. And with 2021 in full swing, maybe now is the time to take your love of this libation to the next level. In other words, it’s time to get out of the stands and get in the game. Here is what you need to know to brew beer in the comfort of your own home.
Equipment You’ll Need
Not all beers are created equal, but they do all require the same basic equipment. So much so that you can purchase inexpensive Beer Brewing Starter Kits that do a ton of the heavy lifting when it comes to your first batch. With everything from carbonation drops to bottles, this is definitely the way to go when starting out.
Brew/Ferment Your Beer
As we said above, when you purchase a complete brewing kit, they come with detailed instructions on how to brew, ferment, and bottle your homemade concoctions. Youtube has hundreds of tutorials on how to tweak, adjust, and introduce new flavors to your brewing and fermenting process. After all, beer is as diverse as the people who brew it.
Storage
Okay, your home brew is, well, brewed, and it’s time for your soon-to-be world famous beer to be bottled and then consumed. Now, if you were thinking that the bottling portion of the process was as easy as pouring liquid from something large to something small, it’s simply not the case. Checking the beer to make sure it's ready to bottle, making sure your bottles and equipment are properly sanitized, and correctly measuring the amount of beer that goes into each bottle are all massively important steps and if done incorrectly, can negatively affect the taste of your batch.
