Where to Watch Car Racing Around Irving

When you want to enjoy some racing entertainment, several local speedways and dirt strips have you covered. You can cheer on your favorite drivers as they try to cross the finish line first. The best places to watch racing near our Irving apartments include:

Yello Belly Dragstrip

The place to race since 1955, the Yello Belly Dragstrip has a long history of offering racing fun. It all began when a group of adventurous young drivers started "racing each other in the sandy river bottom of the Trinity River." The land was owned by a millionaire, and he went on to build the dragstrip we know and love today. It welcomes some of the most exciting drivers, and you'll never be bored as they satisfy their need for speed.

Devil's Bowl Speedway

Called the "Southwest's most famous dirt track," the Devil's Bowl Speedway draws spectators from near and far. As one of the best places to watch car racing around Irving, it seats 10,000, and features six air-conditioned suites that can be rented for up to ten people each. The speedway has four classes in its Weekly Championship Series. There's always something fun to watch, and Devil's Bowl also hosts a night benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Texas Motor Speedway

Nicknamed the "Great American Speedway," the Texas Motor Speedway is one of the world's largest motorsports venues. It can hold over 200,000 spectators. Along with offering races, the speedway also hosts driver appearances, track tours, the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience, and much more. When hunger strikes, enjoy a meal at the nearby Torchy's Tacos. Menu choices include Baja shrimp tacos and the restaurant's famous green chili queso.

When the weather keeps you indoors, head to the Irving Arts Center to enjoy performances and art exhibitions. Finally, to call Olympus Las Colinas home and live close to all of these attractions, please contact us. We will show you firsthand everything our apartments in Irving have to offer.
