Spend a Fun-filled Day at the Irving Arts Center
After Ben and Betty Carpenter dreamed of building a home for the arts, the Irving Arts Center was born. The couple donated a portion of the land, and since opening, the center has become a "lively hub of community celebration." Here is some of what you can discover near our Irving apartments:
Catch a performance inside Carpenter Hall. With no seat more than 75' from the stage, it offers an intimate experience that keeps audiences coming back for more. The shows vary, and each one is as entertaining as the last. Watch the center's calendar for upcoming performances. This is a great Irving cultural experience to enjoy.
Momentum Dance Company
One of the center's resident art organizations, the Momentum Dance Company features, "dancers who are passionate about telling stories and sharing beauty through the art of dance." They also promote appreciation for the fine arts in the Metroplex. The company mainly performs ballet, and their annual Nutcracker performance is a beloved community event. For more on this Irving cultural experience, follow the company on Facebook to learn about upcoming shows and more.
Be sure and head outside to explore the Sculpture Garden. Created to showcase Texas artists, this two-acre oasis comes complete with colorful flowers, trickling fountains, and wandering paths. One of the highlights includes the Star Flower. A part of the permanent collection, it proudly stands in the reflection pool. Artist James Surls earns international recognition for his abstract sculptures. He was named "Texas artist of the year" in 1991, and a "living legend" by the Dallas Contemporary Art Center two years later.
When you would rather enjoy a day at home, invite your friends over to play some of the most epic board games. Finally, to learn about calling Olympus Las Colinas home, please contact us. We will offer a tour so you can discover everything our apartments in Irving have to offer.
