Go the Distance by Joining a Tampa Running Club
With fast routes and water views for miles, it's no wonder that Tampa is a popular place to go for a run. Maybe you're just starting a running routine or have hit the pavement for years. Either way, joining a running club offers a fun way to keep moving as you meet new friends. The running clubs near our apartments in Tampa include:
Run Tampa
Debbie Voiles started running in 1977 after struggling to lose a few pounds. She has been running ever since. A trail runner, Debbie founded Run Tampa as a way to share her passion. Today, the club boasts 500 members and hosts group runs on Wednesday evenings (except in June, July, and August) and on most Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Tampa Bay Runners
Better known as TBR, Tampa Bay Runners has been a community fixture since 1981. Founder Bob Braman was a college cross-country and track coach. The club quickly became popular among local runners of all ages and athletic abilities. Weekly group runs happen on Wednesday evenings. The fun starts at 7:00 p.m. at Dan's Fan City and covers three to five miles around the golf course and nearby subdivisions.
LOUD Runners
When a group of running friends decided to help other athletes reach their goals, LOUD Runners was born. The name stands for Lifting Others Up Daily. The club invites everyone to join in the fun and emphasizes leading a positive life and making a difference. Group runs are often on the weekends between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. LOUD offers free memberships as well as paid and corporate memberships.
