It’s the time of year when farmers markets start bursting with fresh greens and all the salad fixings you could dream of. Lucky for us, we have one of the best farmers markets in the state, right here in Gilbert.

Here is everything you need to know.

The Farmers Market Story

This farmers market runs all year long, thanks to the warm Arizona climate. It boasts about 60 regular vendors during the summer months, but at peak season – spring and fall – there are over 100. You’ll find local produce there as well as Arizona food products. You can even stop there for a snack at one of the delicious food trucks.

It all began in 2010, with a mission of bringing healthy, local food to Gilbert-area residents. The market is also involved in promoting education and sustainability around the region.

How to Get There

The Gilbert Farmers Market is located downtown on Ash Street, west of the water tower.

When to Go

You can visit the Gilbert Farmers Market any Saturday of the year, except for their two closures for Independence Day and Christmas. During the summer, they’re open from 7 to 11 AM, and during the rest of the season, you can visit between 8 AM and noon. Make sure to check their Facebook page before you go to confirm their hours, as they sometimes change with the seasons.

And don’t be discouraged if it rains – though they might adjust their hours, they’ll still be open for business!

You’ll love the incredible variety of vendors at this market – those that provide vegetables, meat, food products and so much more. While you’re visiting, be sure to check out all the local favorites, including Blue Sky Organic Farms, AZ Fine Swine, Gilbert Olive Oil, Bites Donuts, Doctor Hummus, Arizona Kombucha Company, Bello Caramels, and so many more. And most of the vendors take credit cards to make your shopping as convenient as possible.
