Downtown Carrollton celebrated its centennial in 2013, and it features two parks that pay homage to the community life that started the city more than one hundred years ago.
When not exploring the parks, visitors find there are plenty of places to shop and dine such as:
Blooms Candy - What began as a flower store is now an old-fashioned candy and soda pop shop. Many visitors find that Blooms takes them back in time to their childhood, and it has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp as customers enjoy the friendly service and large selection. Candy choices include bacon cotton candy, Dr. Pepper licorice, and matcha green tea Kit Kats.
The Old Craft Store - The Old Craft Store has welcomed shoppers since 1971. It has a friendly staff and offers fun classes along with products such as fabrics, patterns, and notions. Have a letter to mail? The store also features a post office that sends both letters and small envelope packages around the world.
Twisted Root Burger Co. - Twisted Root is a vibrant eatery that's owned by two friends who met during culinary school. It first opened in Dallas and in 2009, it became a popular destination after being featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The burgers are made with half-pound patties, and choices include The Western, Freshman 15, and The Spicy Goat.
Amici's Signature Italian - Amici's is known for blending the traditional with the eclectic to create a unique dining experience. The chef prepares northern and southern Italian cuisine, and when he is not in the kitchen, he's in the dining room chatting with guests. Menu options include lasagna, seafood manicotti, and beef medallion pepper steak.
