Frank's Americana Revival
Nestled in the River Oaks neighborhood, Frank's Americana Revival offers delicious meals made with ingredients from local farmers markets. The restaurant has won numerous awards, and its refined, but comfortable setting features mid-century decor. Chef Colin Shine has a passion for food that roots back to Grandma's table, and he creates a menu featuring reinterpreted comforting American favorites. Choices include maple brined pork chops, buttermilk fried chicken, and Lone Star burgers.
Found on San Felipe Street, Ouisie's Table features a comfortable atmosphere meant to encourage conversation. Pronounced "We-zee's," it's complete with high ceilings, candlelit tables, and garden views, and it is where many local celebrate special occasions. Houston native Elouise Adams Jones owns the restaurant, and growing up, she enjoyed cooking alongside her mother and grandmother. Meals include shrimp and cheese grits, chicken fried chicken, and braised short ribs au jus.
Hearsay Market Square
At Hearsay Market Square, guests are transported to an undefined era in Houston's history. It is housed in the historic W.L Foley Building and features two stories of wood, original brick, and mirrored walls that light up at night. The building was constructed in 1860 by baker John Kennedy, and it became the restaurant's home in 2009. The menu was designed by some of the finest chefs in the city and includes southern fried chicken, lamb lollipops, and Angus ribeye steak. Behind the bar, the bartenders create refreshing cocktails such as French 75 and the House of Lancaster.
