Do you want to bring out your inner Picasso?
If so, there are a myriad of creative studios where you can paint, learn about image composition, and so much more.
Here are a few favorites:
Texas Art Asylum
The owners boast that the Texas Art Asylum is part craft store, part thrift store, and part salvage yard. Much of the ever-changing inventory comes from those who recognized that their unwanted items could easily be reused or repurposed, and wandering the aisles often sparks creativity. The shop's classes are taught by some of the city's finest artists, and they help everyone turn "trash" into amazing works of art.
Glassell Studio School
Found at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Glassell Studio School offers fun courses in studio arts to anyone eighteen and older. Students are diverse in both background and skill level, and classes include watercolor, ceramics, and painting. They can be taken at one's leisure or through the Certificate of Achievement program.
Houston Center for Photography
At the Houston Center for Photography, the mission is to increase the appreciation of photography in its evolving role in today's contemporary culture. They're taught by esteemed photographers and include Learning the Basics, Black and White Photographs in the Digital Age, and Natural Light Portraiture.
The Mad Potter
The Mad Potter is where visitors can make one-of-a-kind gifts or create custom dishes. It was established in 1998, and its mission is to be a place where friends and families can make both memories and masterpieces. Adults can also enjoy fun parties full of laughter and good times, and on Tuesdays, the company offers two dollars off studio time all day.
