If you're looking for unique pieces for your home, don't miss the First Saturday Arts Market.
The fun takes place year-round in the Houston Heights neighborhood, and the market's mission is to provide an outlet for local artists to showcase their work in an art festival atmosphere.
All of the works are original and include paintings, sculptures, and handcrafted items.
Cathy Hookey was born and raised in southern England and has called Houston home since late 2016. After graduating with an illustration degree, she began illustrating comic and children's books while at the same time working for the BBC making art and props for a television show. Today, she also creates drawings and paintings inspired by her inner experiences.
Originally from Valenciennes, France, Cyriaque Milhau has lived in Texas since 2004. As a self-taught photographer, he likes to change the perspectives of what can immediately be captured by the camera. Based on the situation, Cyriaque may work with a variety of tools, and states that he wants his "collectors to have more than just a pretty piece of art on their walls."
Jack Connelly is a self-taught artist who has been painting for more than forty years. He mainly works in acrylic and oil paints, and his artistic styles are known for their detail and originality. Jack's creations have earned him several awards at jury-based contests, and one of his paintings is currently on display at the U.S.S. Wainwright Museum. He enjoys talking with shoppers at the market, and his works range from precise military to sci-fi pieces.
The First Saturday Arts Market is just one of the monthly events that residents of The Ranch at Shadow Lake can enjoy. If you are thinking about calling our community home, please contact our leasing agents to arrange a tour.
