Escape rooms are a fun and challenging place to go on a date, hang out with friends, or have a team building experience with co-workers. Most escape rooms work basically the same way: you are "locked" in a themed room where you and a certain number of other players must find clues, solve riddles and puzzles, and you try to make it out before the time limit. Sometimes you get a bumper sticker or T-shirt if you escape, but most times you pose for a picture with props that either brag that you made it out in time or admit that you were unsuccessful.
Quest Shark Adventures
Quest Shark Adventures is located about 20 minutes east of The Ranch at Shadow Lake Apartments. It is open daily from 10 am until 11 pm, but reservations are required. There are three rooms available, each with a one hour limit. In Hotel's Secrets, 2-11 players have to escape from a hotel before it collapses from an earthquake. Tesla Room also allows 2-11 players to work together to find a portal to prevent alien invasion. Only 2-8 players can try to find the hidden Salvador Dali painting in Crazy Artist's Workshop.
Houston Panic Room
If you don't mind driving a little further, there are several other options within a half and hour drive. Houston Panic Room in Katy has rooms themed around zombies, abandoned schools, and a secluded ski resort in a blizzard. Each room requires a minimum of 4 players.
Alternate Reality is also located in Katy. They claim to be the newest and most advanced escape room in the Houston area, and the facility is a whopping 4,000 square feet. Check out the videos of the three rooms before you go, as some may be too scary for some participants.
The next time you are looking for a unique way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, or just want to have a good time with friends, book an escape room. Everyone will have a fantastic time!
