Right in the center of the Dallas Arts District, you’ll find the Nasher Sculpture Center, home to a vast collection of over 300 contemporary and modern pieces of art including works by Picasso, Matisse, and Giacometti. Tour the rotating selection of works both inside and out, in the Renzo Piano-designed building and on the garden grounds.
Also located in the district is the Dallas Museum of Art, one of the top 10 largest art museums in the country. This incredible 370,000 square foot building contains over 24,000 works of art created over the last 5,000 years. The museum also hosts regular community events and performances open to all ages. If live music and theatre is more of your scene, the Dallas Arts District has got you covered. With over 10 performance venues, such as the Meyerson Symphony Center, Winspear Opera House, and the Dallas Black Dance theatre, there are so many impressive live acts and performances to see. It’s never too early to introduce kids to the world of art and performance. Many of the district’s venues have special rates for children and students, as well as summer camps for visual and performing arts. For some good old-fashioned summer fun, check out Water Gun Madness, a weekly event held at Klyde Warren Park every Friday afternoon from 12-2 pm.

You’ll need to re-fuel after touring all of the art, music, and culture the district has to offer, and you’re in luck because the Dallas Arts District boasts some of the city’s best food and drink.
