Did you know that Mexican cuisine is considered a world treasure?
It became part of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2010, making it only the second cuisine ever to receive this honor.
Whether you enjoy tamales, fajitas, or burritos, head to one of the following restaurants where you can enjoy these meals and more:
For more than three decades, Abuelo's has offered delicious made-from-scratch meals at reasonable prices. It was established by three friends who had a common goal of wanting to bring people together to experience the unique flavors of Mexico in a casual, comfortable setting. The restaurant is designed as an open-air courtyard, and the service is always friendly and attentive. Meals include Yucatan shrimp fajitas, cheese enchiladas, and chile relleno.
Rosa's Cafe has satisfied hungry customers since 1983. The first location opened in San Angelo, and today there are dozens found throughout the state. It's known for its upscale, fast-casual concept, and is where guests can enjoy a leisurely meal with family and friends. The menu includes smothered burritos and cheese enchiladas, as well as the restaurant's signature beef and chicken fajitas that are grilled to perfection over West Texas mesquite wood.
Believe it or not, JumBurrito began soon after a "for sale" sign appeared in the window of a small pharmacy. The pharmacy was going out of business and was selling used restaurant equipment. Newlyweds Jose and Diane Cuevas saw the sign, and after much thought, they decided to buy the equipment and open an eatery where guests could enjoy made-from-scratch Tex-Mex burritos. They have won more than twenty local people's choice awards, and the chefs make the meals using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Burritos include smothered, ground beef, and bean & cheese.
