Fort Worth Aviation Museum
The Fort Worth Aviation Museum is dedicated to promoting the history of aviation in Fort Worth and around the world. The museum houses twenty-six warbirds from 1943 through today and highlights include the O-2A Skymaster, F-4C Phantom, and the TF-102 Delta Dagger that President George W. Bush flew during his service in the Texas Air National Guard. Throughout the year, guests can also enjoy annual events such as the First Flight Day Celebration and Hops & Props.
C.R. Smith Museum
Named for aviation pioneer and former president of American Airlines, Cyrus Rowlett Smith, this museum interprets the air transportation industry as well as preserves the history of the airline. There are several permanent exhibits on view including "Maintaining the Fleet." Here guests learn how mechanics of American Airlines maintain today's planes, as well as see an enormous General Electric CF6 engine from the McDonnell Douglas MD-11.
Vintage Flying Museum
At the Vintage Flying Museum, the mission is to preserve America's flying heritage in word, deed, and action. The staff strives to keep the historic aircraft in the air, and guests can spend time with the volunteers who keep the planes in working order. The museum's collection includes the Cessna 140, North American AT-6 Texan, and the WWII Link Trainer, as well as extensive artifacts from both world wars, Korea, and the Vietnam era.
