The Telfair Museums are filled with paintings, photography, sculptures, and other works of art from around Europe and America. These famous works of art can be seen at either the Telfair Academy, Owens-Thomas House, and the Jepson Center. Juneteenth Lecture (June 8th)
Reverend George Liele's story will be told at the Jepson Center on June 8th at 6 pm. Jamaica-based lawyer and scholar Michael A. Lorne will tell the story of how an African-American became a Savannah pastor and later emigrated to Jamaica. Rev. George Liele's historical journey is free for all visitors.
Juneteenth Free Family Day (June 9th)
One of the longest-running community events at the Jepson Center, this program is a celebration of freedom. Visitors to the event can enjoy storytelling, hands-on weaving, sculpting activities, art demonstrations, and a concert. The event is free to all guests and will be held at the Jepson Center, taking place on June 9 from 1pm to 4pm.
Free Family Day: Open Road (August 4th)
Celebrate the end of summer by checking out The Open Road exhibition! This free event at the Jepson Center is filled with family activities about travel and photography. Visitors are encouraged to make an end-of-summer postcard, contribute to a map of summer travels, and talk with local photographers about their recent works. This event will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on August 4th.
