Treat Your Residents this Season with These Fall-Centric Events

As autumn chugs along and residents fall into their busy routines, it’s important to continue to keep a sense of community alive and thriving within your multi-family property. With crisp air, stunning foliage, and exciting holidays, it’s also the perfect time to show your residents a little extra appreciation by bringing the community together to celebrate the season. Today we’re sharing our favorite ideas for fall events and perks your residents are sure to love.

Start Small

Spreading your appreciation to your residents doesn’t have to be complicated. Chances are, folks are leading active, busy lives, and may benefit from something quick they can do on their way out the door to work or school. In your clubhouse, arrange a special fall-themed coffee and hot chocolate bar for chilly morning commutes. You can even get creative and offer pumpkin-spice ingredients or hot apple cider for a seasonal twist. A thoughtful morning treat can make your residents’ day, and may even encourage them to chat up your property to colleagues when they arrive at work. A win-win for all.

Get Into the Halloween Theme

Halloween is the perfect time to bring both adults and children together. Just about everyone can get behind a sweet treat or a scary movie, and you can gear your Halloween-themed event to your resident demographic. If your community is full of families and children, consider hosting a pumpkin carving night. You may choose to supply the pumpkins or have residents bring their own, but be prepared by setting up various stations with carving tools and plenty of paper towels. Have some treats on hand for kids and adults, and at the end, pick a few winning pumpkins to display in the clubhouse.

If your residents tend to skew a bit older, consider hosting a scary movie night. You never truly outgrow the thrill of the Halloween season, and a great way to capture that is by gathering folks for a screening. Pick a classic Halloween thriller, set up the projector, and get the popcorn going as your residents enjoy a spooky evening.

Gather for Game Day

Another wonderful part of fall is Sunday football. Whether you’re a die-hard fan, or just there for the snacks, there’s something inherently comforting about spending your Sunday with friends and family on the couch watching the game, so why not spread that joy throughout the community? Pick a Sunday this fall when your regional team is playing a contested opponent, and invite your residents to join in on the fun. Be sure to arrange plenty of comfortable seating, easy viewing, and refreshments. You can serve up classic game-day snacks, ask residents to share their own recipes potluck-style, or spring for local food trucks to come serve up treats for the afternoon. Either way, you’re giving your residents a chance to mingle and bond over an all-American tradition.
