Fall Refreshments To Whip Up This Season

Fall Refreshments To Whip Up This Season

A few weeks back, Starbucks made headlines yet again for the return of their now-infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte, and while it’s a rather played out fall theme, we have to admit, fall drinks get us just as excited about the turn of the season as the next person. With yet another segment of wedding season upon us, as well as Halloween and other seasonal gatherings just around the corner, we’ve put together our favorite list of fall drinks both hot and cold to get you in the spirit of the season. Follow along and learn how to spice up your own beverages without having to wait in long lines at the coffee shop!

Our Twist on the PSL

If you love that pumpkin spice flavor but want to cut down on the time and money it takes to pick up a morning coffee at Starbucks each day, we’ve got you covered. This recipe from TheKitchn explains step-by-step how to make an even better at-home Pumpkin Spice Latte. You’ll need pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, whole milk, espresso, and heavy cream to create this homemade treat (that’s right, this version uses real pumpkin) as well as an espresso or coffee maker. If you love the recipe – and we’re pretty sure you will – you can give yourself a jump start each morning by making a large batch of the flavoring base. This will save you even more time each morning when you go to brew your morning treat. Plus, we have a feeling these pumpkin ingredients may come in handy for our next few treats…

Pumpkin and Apple Cider Fizz

Combine the two flavors of the season with this refreshing twist on a classic fall cider. This delicious cocktail includes a blend of pumpkin puree, vanilla vodka, apple cider, and ginger beer. This shaken treat provides a refreshing harvest taste, as the bite from the ginger beer balances out any sweetness from the apple pie. The result is a delicious sip of autumn. A Classic Mulled Cider

If you’re not a fan of pumpkin spice, fear not, there are still fall beverages out there for you. We love a classic mulled cider this time of year, preferably on the first crisp day of the season. This drink is fairly easy, and you can put your own personal spin on it by using your favorite bourbon. Pour one ounce in a mug, and add hot apple cider, a dash of allspice, one tall cinnamon stick, and a slice of lemon. Then, curl up in front of the fireplace and enjoy.
