Our Latest News
Last week was CES 2018, one of the world's biggest trade shows covering all things tech. Amidst the sea of VR tools and smart cars was a slew of technologies devoted to the future of the smart home. With innovative features previously only seen in sci-fi pop culture, it appears that for tech-savvy apartments, the future is right around the corner.
Here are a few notable products to look out for:
A Very, Futuristic Kitchen
Michigan-based startup, Urbaneer aimed to wow at this year's conference with a kitchen counter like no other. The Future Kitchen looks like your average kitchen minus the usual mess of wires and cords stemming from appliances. To clarify, this kitchen is completely wireless due to surfaces that can charge a variety of devices upon contact. From blenders to coffee makers to the tablet that displays your recipes, these counters will charge most of your kitchen essentials.
With the rise of Amazon Prime, it's become apparent that the future of shopping is mostly online. While the process of shopping itself is swift and easy, there is some hesitance when it comes to leaving packages outside your door before you arrive home. August aims to fix that with deliveries that are dropped off inside the home. While unsettling to some, the company guarantees a safe transaction. This is how it works: The driver receives a one-time pin code to enter the house. Prior to them entering, a resident is alerted and can view the drop off in real time on camera via the app.
A New Way To Sleep
We all know the value of a good night's sleep, and yet it's one of the hardest things to achieve. Sleep Number aims to fix this problem with a smart bed that can customize desired firmness and track vitals through the night. Each morning, users will receive a score on the Sleep Number app, that relays the quality and length of sleep.
While it may be some time before these products hit the mainstream, the limitless possibilities of smart home technology are still pretty amazing. Which of the above devices would you try?
