Every now and then, there is an event so weird and quirky that even if it isn’t your thing you are tempted to go just to see it. Whether it is the Rattlesnake Round-up in Sweetwater or the Texas Renaissance Festival between Plantersville and Magnolia, you just have to go. But how about something close to us at Alexan Auburn Lakes? Well, we are always talking about our amazing luxury apartments for rent in Spring, Texas, and soon, we’ll be minutes from one of the funkiest events of the year.
It may seem like a crazy combination when you pair a sandcastle building contest with the belting live music of Led Zeppelin. But who are we to question the greatness of Led Zeppelin and sand? Join your neighbors on March 29th at The Woodlands Township for free music by the great Houston tribute band Black Dog. These local guys have quite the following and belt out some rockin’ tunes!
When you pay homage to a band that started in 1968 and is one of the all-time greatest, it is a tribute of love. Led Zeppelin’s heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition as one of the progenitors of heavy metal, though their unique style drew from a wide variety of influences, including folk music. When you are a classic, any concert of your songs is a sing a long event! So, rock on, Garth!
Along with the concert is the 4th Annual Sandcastle Building Contest. The Woodlands Township encourages you to bring the shovel…they will provide the sand. Perhaps you will be inspired to create a “Stairway to Heaven” castle. Just be careful when you create your design…heaving rocking may induce castle collapse! With any luck, your design will evoke “A Whole Lotta Love” from the judges and you will WIN! What a “Heartbreaker” if it is your neighbor that takes home the accolades. OK, you get it….we love us some Led Zeppelin too.
Of course, this is just one of the hundreds of events that take place in our neighborhood every year…and it is why we love living at Alexan Auburn Lakes. Our luxury apartments are beautiful, our community amenities are first class and there is ALWAYS something going on in our neck of the woods. If this is your kind of vibe, come and see us. We would love to show you around…and if you want to talk about Led Zeppelin, we are willing to accommodate!
