4 FANTASTIC SITES FOR SUMMER FUN CLOSE TO SOUTH JORDAN

|

The best thing about summer is deciding how to fill the long, sunny days. Here are four fantastic ways to celebrate the season.

Loveland Living Planet Aquarium

If you haven’t been to this gem of nearby Draper, you are missing out. The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium provides an immersive experience – including the underwater tunnel that allows you to experience being surrounded by sharks on all sides without ever having to get wet! Here, you can get up close and personal with green sea turtles, admire the majesty of a giant Pacific octopus, even touch a stingray! If you want more than a glimpse into the fascinating world of aquatic life, head over to the Asia exhibit, where you can observe reptiles, otters, fish, and two clouded leopards. When you get hungry, grab a Teriyaki Pineapple Burger or a Sweet Chile Shrimp Noodle Bowl at the onsite Reef Café.

Cowabunga Bay Water Park

This water park has the distinction of being the "World's Largest Water Playground." With 12 levels of connecting tunnels and bridges, 300 interactive water toys, and 11 water slides, it's impossible to get bored here. And for the finale, a 1,500-gallon bucket of water, lovingly referred to as "The World's Biggest Splash," is dropped on visitors to beat back the summer heat. And when you just want to relax and get some sun, there's always Cowabunga Beach

Little Cottonwood Canyon

How about a short road trip to see some stunning natural sites? About 25 miles from Salt Lake City are recreational areas along the Cottonwood Canyon. There, you'll discover hiking trails that provide a stellar look at the beautiful Utah landscape. And if you want to make a weekend of it, bring your camping gear!

Oquirrh Lake Trail

Here's the perfect way to spend a summer evening: strolling this stunning lake trail. You'll go over and under bridges, walk by sandy beaches and docks, and will, no doubt, get some of the best views in the area.
