3 HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SOJO SUMMERFEST

|

Celebrate all things summer and South Jordan at the SoJo Summerfest, coming to various sites around town Sept. 13-18. Traditionally held earlier in the year to ring in summer, this year’s Summerfest is instead a celebration of summer’s end. Here are three events you don’t want to miss.

Battle of the Bands

Rock out to the sounds of local musicians competing for a $5,000 cash prize and chance to open for Provo-based indie-pop band Spirit City at a Sept. 18 concert. Only the best make it to the Summerfast stage, where the survivors of two rounds of video competitions battle it out with 25-minute live sets. This is a can’t-miss event. You’ll be able to say you saw these amazing local acts before they hit it big.

When: Sept. 17-18, all day

Where: Salt Lake County Equestrian Park & Event Center

Cost: Free

Best in SoJo Pet Show

Join South Jordan Mayor Dawn Ramsey as the winners are revealed on the big screen. Categories include: Best Hairstyle, Best Smile, Best Original Meme, Best Trick, Best Awkward Family Photo. Submit your image or video entries here!

When: Sept. 18, TBD

Where: Salt Lake County Fairgrounds

The Parade

Partake in the pageantry that is the SoJo Summerfest Parade. It starts at 11010 S and 2200 W, heading north along 2200 W before turning east on Park Road and wrapping up at South Jordan City Park.

When: Sept. 18, 9 AM
