Do you enjoy going for a run on a Saturday morning?
Now that the warm weather is here, it's time to lace up your sneakers and head out for a jog.
Here are a few scenic trails you don't want to miss:
CANYON RIDGE TRAIL
Found at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, the Canyon Ridge Trail features stunning views of Lake Worth. It descends into shallow canyons, and as the park's hardest trail, runners should be prepared for steep inclines. Hawks and vultures often fly overhead, and rock structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s stand atop the two highest ridges. A stone staircase with 63 steps also dates back to this era.
EAGLE MOUNTAIN PARK TRAIL
The Eagle Mountain Park Trail features 400 acres of unique Texas landscape. It's where the "prairie meets the timbers," and is one of the best hiking/running trails in North Texas. The path is rated as moderate, and it provides a few challenging hills and steep climbs.
The land has a storied history from the American Indians to ranchers. It hasn't been grazed for decades and offers a glimpse of what the area looked like before the frontier settlements. Visitors will also see a barn and windmill constructed in 1938, along with non-native plants along the lake.
OAK GROVE PARK TRAIL
Nestled on 40 acres along the southern shores of Lake Grapevine, Oak Grove Park is surrounded by towering trees and colorful flowers. The trail stretches 1.3 miles and offers stunning views of the glistening water. It connects to both the C. Shane Wilbanks and Dove Loop Trails for those looking to enjoy a longer run.
Running is just one of the outdoor activities enjoyed by residents of Olympus at Willow Park. If you would like to call our apartment community home, please contact our leasing staff. They'll gladly give you a tour and discuss our leasing options.
