For a fun day out, head to the Fort Worth Stockyards. It boasts dozens of shops, restaurants, and must-see attractions surrounded by rich history. Here is just a sample of what the Fort Worth Stockyards offers near our Willow Park apartments:
Billy Bob's Texas
Don your cowboy hat and enjoy an evening at Billy Bob's Texas. It opened in 1981 with a concert by Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers. Today, Billy Bob's Texas is the world's largest honky tonk. Visitors come from near and far and enjoy plenty of fun from open to close. Before watching a performance or testing your bull riding skills, sample the delicious offerings at the Honky Tonk Kitchen. Choices include fried catfish po'boys, chicken tenders, and barbecue taco salad.
Herd Experience
A free, interactive program, the Herd Experience allows you to get up close to the drovers who use tools from the cattle drive era. Activities may include branding, roping, and cattle drive demonstrations. The Herd Experience is held Friday through Sunday between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Cowtown Coliseum
Home to the world's only year-round rodeo, the Cowtown Coliseum opened more than a century ago. Since 1908, it has welcomed everyone from President Roosevelt to Elvis Presley. The Coliseum has also been featured in commercials, music videos, and television programs. On most Friday and Saturday nights, you can watch the cowboys show off their incredible skills. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets usually sell out, and the coliseum highly recommends purchasing them online in advance.
For another way to have fun, explore the Fort Worth Zoo. You will learn about animals from around the globe. If you're looking to call Olympus Willow Park home, please contact us. We'd love to offer a tour where you can discover our apartments in Willow Park firsthand.
