Guild Wars 2
Looking for an MMO without a subscription fee? Unlike Final Fantasy XIV or World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2 has no monthly subscription and is free to try out. The game has a unique leveling system, action-oriented combat, and they release content every couple of months. You can play the entire base storyline for nothing, and there are never any level cap increases or gear increases. Once you have the top gear, that’s it. You’re done. Until you decide to level cap every class that is. Bonus? The third expansion is currently in the works and should be releasing soon. There’s no time like the present to get caught up on the story!
Rise of the Tomb Raider
The Tomb Raider series was a fan favorite back in the day, but the reboot saw a sad amount of love considering how epic the newer games actually are. They definitely take a page out of the Uncharted series, and the gameplay is super fun to navigate. The storyline fell a little short in comparison to Lara Croft’s past tales of epicness, but that doesn’t make Rise of the Tomb Raider any less fun to play.
No Man’s Sky
Remember when everyone was mega hyping No Man’s Sky and then interest just totally dropped? Yes, the game launched in an awful state with gameplay issues, missing features, and an awful excuse for multiplayer mode. To the game and developer’s credit, they did fix those issues. And turns out, it’s an incredible game. But for most players it was too little, too late. If you were disappointed in the past, it might be time to pick up No Man’s Sky for a second try.
