Did you know that barbecue in America dates back to colonial times?
Today, barbecuing plays a large role in Southern cuisine which is famous for its rich and zesty flavor.
If you would like to enjoy some mouthwatering barbecue, the best nearby restaurants include:
SPRING CREEK BARBECUE
A Texas tradition since 1980, Spring Creek Barbecue is where the pitmasters start their day early to smoke all of your favorites. They cover the meat with a secret recipe barbecue sauce and are proud to say that they're still slow cooking after nearly forty years. Visitors are always greeted with a smile, and the cozy dining room features exposed brick and dark wood accents. Meals include ribs, brisket, and cracked black pepper sausage.
RUDY'S COUNTRY STORE
Rudy's originated when Rudolph Aue opened a one-stop gas station, garage, and grocery store in the small town of Leon Springs, Texas. Barbecue was added in 1989, and the pits are 100 percent fired with oak. The pitmasters cook with a dry spice to ensure that each plate is perfect every time. The restaurant is now found in five states, and it offers a rustic feel with old signs and tables covered with checkered cloths. The menu includes spicy chops, half chicken, and baby back ribs.
GOODE CO.
The owners of the Goode Co. believe in the handmade, the handcrafted, and the tried and true. The barbecue pits haven't stopped smoking since 1977, and when the restaurant first opened, Jim Goode and his uncle slept on site to check on the brisket every hour. The dining room is often packed with regulars, and the service is always friendly. Along with the brisket, the menu also includes pork ribs, jalapeno pork sausage, and honey smoked ham.
