Government Canyon State Natural Area
Don’t let the lack of weight equipment trick you into not working out today, just get outside and get moving! Government Canyon features more than 40 miles of hiking, mountain biking, and running trails. The rolling grasslands and outback canyon landscape sets the tone for a killer sweat sesh.
Kelly Area Park
Less than 10 miles east of Tacara at Westover Hills is the ultimate fitness playground at Kelly Area Park. Set up with actual fitness stations, taking your workout outdoors is as easy as throwing on a pair of sneaks and hopping in your car for a quick trip down Highway 151.
Gateway Hills Golf Course
With 200 acres of extreme elevation changes and a minimum of four hours for 18 holes, who said golfing isn’t a full on workout? And, practice your swings with a gorgeous backdrop, as this course overlooks the San Antonio area.
Leon Vista Trailhead
Tree tunnels, nature park path connections, and 20 miles of paved trails make for an ideal local spot to get your workout on. Avoid the notorious Texas heat along shady paths tucked under lush trees to help keep you cool.
