4 BEST GOLF COURSES NEAR DALLAS

|

Here in Dallas, we’re lucky to be surrounded by some of the area’s most prestigious golf courses. Courses designed by legends like Arnold Palmer and Byron Nelson are fan favorites, and aside from the incredible golfing to be had, the clubhouses and dining options are top-notch. We’ve narrowed down our selection of the four best public golf courses near Dallas. Get those clubs out and get swinging!

Cowboys Golf Club

The first and only NFL-themed golf club in the world, the Cowboys Golf Club is one of the region’s only all-inclusive world-class resort golf properties. Set amidst the rolling hills on 159 acres of pristine natural setting in Grapevine, Texas, this beautiful course was designed by award-winning architect Jeff Brauer. While playing this unique golf gem, you’ll notice how the course pays homage to the Dallas Cowboys’ rich history through stone markers and other visuals dispersed throughout the course.

Grapevine Golf Course

Co-designed by the golf legend himself Byron Nelson, this 27-hole course offers a fun, yet challenging course. The scenery at Grapevine Golf Course is stunning and full of trees, and is in close proximity to Grapevine Lake. And if you’re lucky, you’ll also get some wildlife viewing mixed into your game.

Tierra Verde Golf Club

Tierra Verde Golf Club is unique in that it’s the first golf club in Texas and the first municipal course in the world to be certified as an Audubon Signature Sanctuary. The course is designed with sculpted fairways, strategically planned bunkers and water hazards — all nestled within beautiful trees and grasses native to the land. They even have the extras, like a state-of-the-art golf learning center, a large chipping and putting green, and a lighted driving range.

Pecan Valley Golf Course

With its unique design, Pecan Valley holds a spot on this list for good reason. Designed by golf course architect Ralph Plummer in 1963, the two 18-hole courses are separated by the Clear Fork of the Trinity River. One is considered the “River” course, while the other is “Hills”. As of recent years, several hundred trees were planted throughout. As they mature, the scenery and playing conditions just keep getting better.

It’s time to grab those clubs and enjoy the beautiful season we are in. Scope out one of these golf courses and you’re on your way to being the next Tiger Woods. Head over to our blog to see what else there is to do around Olympus Woodbridge.
