Permian Basin Fair & Expo
Offering a full nine days of family-fun, the Permian Basin Fair & Expo takes place September 3-12 at the Ector County Coliseum Fairgrounds in Odessa. There’s a lot to experience at the fairgrounds, including a large carnival, livestock shows, interactive attractions, animal exhibits, live music, and even a creative arts contest. Get into the action with the Wild West Show, and watch raptors fly in the sky during the Birds of Prey show. A perfect end-of-summer event, the Permian Basin Fair & Expo is it.
Stonehenge Replica
Take advantage of the mild temps and visit the Stonehenge Replica inside the University of Texas, Permian Basin Campus. This free attraction is the perfect spot for an Insta-worthy photo opp, where you can take in the sights of a solid Stonhenge replica produced by students at the university. With plaques located throughout, you can read about various Stonehenge facts. Grab your free history lesson and take in the sights at this worthy stop in Odessa.
Ellen Noël Art Museum
A fine arts center, sculptural garden, and cultural programs give the locals in Odessa something to gawk over. Experience amazing art exhibitions at the Ellen Noël Art Museum, like the upcoming Audubon’s Quadrupeds and Finding Alice. For specific activities at the museum, look into one of their several programs, serving everyone from toddlers, to teens, to adults. A favorite? Relax and bend to a 50-minute yoga class, taught by the museum’s resident certified yoga instructor.
Rimrock Raceway
Get your adrenaline going with a ride at Rimrock Raceway, where you can experience what it would be like to become a race car driver for a day. Industry leading rental karts soar at high speeds at the premier karting facility in West Texas. Full throttle, let’s gooo.
