3 Historic Sites Worth Exploring in Odessa

History is a part of every city, but not every place has historical sites worth exploring. Odessa is one location with various historical buildings and unique structures that are definitely worth checking out. They're all located just a short drive away from our Odessa apartments. They include:

Stonehenge Replica

One of the most noteworthy historical landmarks in Odessa is the Stonehenge Replica. The TexaStone Quarries, as the sign reads, are displayed by The University of Texas Of The Permian Basin. Built in 2004, this replica came as close as possible to the original design. It is just a bit shorter, though, but it still stands at 19 feet tall.

The White-Pool House

Original to Odessa in 1887, the White-Pool House is the oldest landmark in the area. The city opened it for public viewing by 1984. The Victorian farmhouse is ideal for weekend tours, or as an event site. You're able to book the place for weddings and special events. If you simply tour the museum-like place, you can see everything inside the two-story home.

Chris Kyle "American Sniper" Memorial

The Chris Kyle "American" Sniper" Memorial is considered a historical landmark in town. The statue that was erected in his honor features a plaque indicating Kyle's achievements. This Navy SEAL sniper was born and raised in Odessa and went on to serve four tours. Though many may only know his name because of the major film that came out about him starring Bradley Cooper, he was a real person with a significant impact in the military and on the world.

After you've finished exploring one or more of these historic sites near our apartments in Odessa, stop for pizza to refuel. Plenty of delicious eateries are nearby Sedona Ranch. Feel free to contact us if you'd like to inquire further about the community.
