There’s still plenty of fun to be had in Midland this summer. Check out these three can’t-miss August events for an awesome time out.
Summer Mummers
What is Summer Mummers, exactly? “It can’t be explained … it must be experienced!” its website proclaims. That said, we’ll do our best. It’s an annual melodrama performed by the Midland Community Theatre. Though information on its website is purposefully vague, Summer Mummers is big on comedy and big on audience participation … with a whole lot of flying along the way. It’s a longstanding fundraiser for the MCT, with the money going toward shows, education programs, and general operations. This year’s show is Bootlegging Boobery in the Basin. With a title like that, we can only imagine what kind of shenanigans are in store. Want to know more about what you’re getting into? Fair enough. This Midland Reporter-Telegram article does its best to fill you in on what to expect.
When: Aug. 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 & Sept. 3 & 4; all shows at 7:30 PM
Where: Yucca Theatre
