Dating back to 1921, the Katy Branch Library first started in private homes by the Katy Garden Club. It later shared space with a grocery and furniture store and now calls its own state-of-the-art building home. Here is some of what the library offers near our Katy apartments:
Knotty & Nice Club
Grab your knitting needles or crochet hooks and join the Knotty & Nice Club. You can learn new skills or share your expertise. The club also offers a fun way to meet new friends, and you're sure to discover some fun new projects. They meet on Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
New York Times Best Sellers
The library features thousands of books, including the latest New York Times bestsellers. Don't miss reading Livid. Penned by Patricia Cornwall, it is the 26th Scarpetta novel and follows Dr. Kay Scarpetta as she is a reluctant witness in a televised murder trial. The nonstop action will keep you entertained until the very last page.
Ancestry Library Edition
If you're into researching your background, Katy Branch offers the library edition of Ancestry. It's the world's largest online ancestry resource and provides access to millions of historical documents and photographs from around the world. Data include marriage certificates, census records, as well as military records.
Freegal Music
Enjoy Freegal Music from the comfort of your home. It features about 15 million songs and more than 40 million music videos. You're sure to find your favorite artists while discovering new ones. What's more, users are allowed unlimited streaming and three weekly downloads.
