CHECK OUT SOME OF OUR FAVORITE KATY PIZZA JOINTS IN HONOR OF NATIONAL PIZZA DAY

|

You may not need an excuse to eat pizza, but we’ve got one for you anyway! Feb. 9 is National Pizza Day, so call or visit one of these nearby Katy pizzerias, and order up your favorites or try some tasty new topping combos.

Crust Pizza Co.

If you’re a fan of Chicago-style thin-crust pizza (or just crispy thin-crust pizza in general), then look no further than Crust Pizza Co., less than 1.5 miles from Olympus Falcon Landing. If you’re a traditionalist, you can get any of the standard pizza toppings. Or step outside the box and try the Big Buffalo Chicken with spicy buffalo hot sauce, ranch dressing, chicken breast, caramelized onion, crushed garlic, smoked mozzarella, and cilantro. Crust also offers a good selection of starters, salads, and pasta.

El Canton Firewood Pizzeria

While you can’t go wrong with a classic pepperoni pizza, El Canton takes things to a whole new level. Many of their specialty pizzas are fusion dishes, mixing the best parts of Italian pizza with Mexican-inspired ingredients. For instance, their Fajita Canton features black beans, queso fresco, and chorizo, among other toppings, while Tiki Chipotle is topped with chipotle chicken, pineapple, and cilantro. A customer favorite is the Luna Verde, which features spinach, cream cheese, and goat cheese, topped with a stunning green spiral of pesto sauce.

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria

For amazing Brooklyn-style pizza cooked in a coal-fired brick oven, head to Grimaldi’s at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch. Their Pesto Pizza is a simple yet elegant blend of mozzarella and pesto, while their Prosciutto Arugula Pizza pairs salty and bitter together in perfect harmony. They also offer gluten-free and cauliflower crust options.

1000 Degrees

This pizzeria is named for its super-hot ovens, which cooks the pizzas at a very high heat for just two minutes, giving them that crispy, delicious crust and the perfect melt on the cheese. The White Out Pizza is insanely good with its simple toppings of cheese, garlic, and mushrooms. You’ll also want to try the Smoky Pollo with barbecue sauce, roasted chicken, bacon, veggies, and pineapple.

Enjoy your pizza feast on Feb. 9 or any day, and take a look at our other blog posts for more great dining, entertainment, and lifestyle recommendations.
