Water – it’s an essential component of life, a quencher of thirst, and our go-to for showering, swimming, and squirt gun fights. If only it had just a little more flavor. Well, it could! Just follow one of these amazing recipes. All start with water and end with something tastier. Yay!
Infused Water
Using the power of the Instant Pot, you can infuse everyone’s favorite life-giving liquid with the flavors of your favorite fruits and more. Try delicious combinations like lemon and blueberry, raspberry and mint, and strawberry and basil. Or come up with your own! All you need to do is dump your stuff into your Instant Pot, top with a few cups of water, and cook on high pressure for five minutes. Then slow release the pressure for 15 minutes, strain into a smaller container, and pop in the fridge.
But, wait! Got a SodaStream? Take your infused water to the next level by adding some carbonation. Ta-da! Homemade all-natural sodas.
Ice Tea
Almost everybody loves iced tea. There’s nothing quite as refreshing on a hot summer’s day. And with the Instant Pot, you can make your own extra quick, without heating up your stovetop. Simply combine four teabags and 6 cups of water, cook on high pressure for 4 minutes, and then let the pressure release naturally for at least 15 minutes. If you’re a sweet tea fan, add a big helping of sugar before screwing on the lid.
Ginger Ale
Love ginger ale? Of course you do. Start by peeling and rough chopping about a pound of ginger root. Toss this in your food processor with the juice of one large lemon and one standard sized lime, and run till smooth. Dump this mixture into your Instant Pot with 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 quarts of water, mix, and clamp the lid on. Cook on high pressure for 30 minutes, and then let the steam release naturally. Let cool, strain, and place in a jar to store in the fridge. When you’re ready to enjoy it, pour a half-cup over ice and add 6 ounces of sparkling water and garnish with a slice of lime. Yum!
