For a fabulous place to shop, dine, and have some fun, head to the Camp Bowie District. It's home to locally-owned boutiques, world-class museums, and restaurants that serve everything from sushi rolls to gourmet burgers. Here is some of what the district has to offer near our apartments in Irving.
The Mercantile
Called Fort Worth's "perfectly quaint shopping stop," The Mercantile is a carefully curated marketplace where over 200 dealers connect the past, present, and future. The varied selection features antiques, clothing, and unique gifts. New items frequently arrive, so each visit offers something new to discover. Additionally, you'll also find the Rose Garden Tea Room. Victorian-inspired, it serves light bites, delicious desserts, and refreshing beverages you can enjoy before wandering the aisles.
National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame
The world's only attraction of its type, the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame honors women from the past through the present who have helped shape the American West. The museum opened in 1975. Today, it features interactive exhibits, two theaters, and a research gallery. As you explore, you'll see items like Dale Evans' saddle, Annie Oakley's gun, and over 6,000 historic and modern photographs.
Lucile's
A Fort Worth restaurant classic, Lucile's serves American favorites with a modern twist. Its building originally opened in 1927 as Steve's Cafe. The restaurant gave way to Finley's cafeteria and later became a grocery store and an artists' studio before Lucile's opened its doors in 1993. Menu offerings include wood-roasted rainbow trout, bacon cheeseburgers, and spicy chicken sandwiches. Enjoy your meal with a pint of beer or an award-winning martini.
