Long gone are the days of stressing out about what to pack, how to pack it right, and the best gear for traveling. Start your travels stress-free before you even head out the door with these brilliant and simple travel packing hacks to swear by.
Get Packing Early
Don’t wait until the last minute to get your packing in order. A week, or even a few days before your trip, consider what clothes and items you would like to bring with you. Set those aside. If you leave them out, you’re likely to wear them before and need to do a last-minute load of laundry. (We’ve all been there!)
Space Saver Bags
Depending on your trip duration and destination, you may need to bring along more than you’d like. Invest in some space saver bags that work to compact your clothing by suctioning out any air. Pro tip: In a pinch, grab some gallon freezer bags and stuff those with smaller clothing items. Once everything is in, compress the bag and tightly seal up.
Small Bags for Big Travel
A longer trip does not always mean more is needed. If you’re headed out on a trip that does not require a variety in clothing options, opt to pack only a few things. Keep it light with a backpack – you’ll avoid extra baggage fees and have less stuff to lug around when you land. Definitely, a win-win.
Create a Mini Clothing Capsule
What you pack does matter. In order to pack less, create a mini clothing capsule. This means you may pack two-to-three shirts, a pair of shorts, a pair of paints, and one or two shoes with the intention that any combination of those items would work.
Consider All Weather
There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes. When traveling away from home, the last thing you want is to be stuck without some of the essentials. Take a look at weather forecasts and make sure to pack the minimum of what you might need.
Invest in Mini Toiletries
It’s unnecessary to bring a full-size toiletry product when there are practically sample sizes of everything out there. One way to save space in your luggage and money in your wallet – purchase mini containers and load up your favorite shampoo, body wash, and conditioner.
Bring Only What You Need
This goes without saying, but don’t overpack. If you are a chronic overpacker, it might make sense to go through your packed belongings with another set of eyes and ask yourself, “do I really need this?” If you’re unsure, you probably don’t need it.
