Since 1936, the Mexican Inn Cafe has served Tex-Mex specialties to the people of North Texas. It was founded by Tiffin Hall when he opened the first location at 5th and Commerce in a building that was already fifty years old. Instead of using traditional advertising methods, he used his pet burro Star. Tiffin allowed the animal to wander the streets of downtown draped with a cloth that encouraged people to visit the restaurant, and when Star grew tired, he returned to the back door where he begged for tortillas. In the kitchen, the chefs make delicious guacamole that's served with chips only found at the cafe.
